Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil In Zero Is A Must Have!

After hearing so many wonderful things about Urban Decay's Glide On Pencils (available in Sephora and Urban Decay's website), I finally decided to pick one up for myself.

First of all, I love how soft this pencil is! If you're anything like me, then you've probably avoided pencil eye liners for a while because of the unpleasant tugging that can sometimes occur (or most times, for that matter). This pencil just, well... Glides on (as the name suggests)!

So what about the 24/7 claim? Well, not so much. I've heard bloggers say it's one of the few products that actually stay put on their water line and the same does not ring true for me. That said, my water line is particularly water-y, so that's definitely not a deal breaker.

I also found that when applied straight on with no blending, the product tends to migrate south. However, when I blend it with a pencil brush, it definitely will stay put for a regular day out (even without using a primer).

My only problem with this eye pencil concerns, ironically enough, its softness. Yes, it's so easy to apply, but it also gets used up too quickly for my taste and at $22 CAD a pop, it's definitely not cheap.

That said, it really is so great to use and it doesn't irritate the skin on my eyelids. It's an awesome product and I recommend it to any one, especially those with sensitive skin; this eyeliner will not tug or pull your eyelids, I assure you!

Style Crush - Rachel McAdams

Rachel McAdams isn't just a style crush, she's also a talent crush. She's such an amazing actress and I love how diverse her work has been over the years.

The same holds true for her personal style, I think. She can easily look edgy, sweet, glamorous, or sexy and she carries it off so effortlessly.

I also love how adventurous she is with her hair. She's rocked blonde, brunette, red(ish), and even pink hair!

Amazing talent, gorgeous woman...

Ugh...

Gorgeous, just... GORGEOUS!

I love that there are pieces that are quite simple and yet, still utterly sexy. The navy blue dress in the 3rd set is a perfect example of this. 

I love all the ruffles and the sequins, the metallics and the LBD's... Oh, and those high-waisted, wide-legged trousers are just lovely. I want a pair!

Monthly Favourites - February 2011

February was a pretty hectic month for me what with moving house and auditions, so there are no new products for this month's favourites.

I'm currently using WiFi at a public library so I still won't be able to post as regularly (or comment back for that matter) so my sincerest apologies.

So, here goes... My favourites for the month of February:

1. L'Occitane - Shea Butter Hand Cream

2. Burt's Bees - Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream

3. Josie Maran - Argan Oil

Moving & cleaning house was pretty brutal on my skin and the dust, plus the below 0 temperatures did nothing or my skin. I had numerous cuts on my hands, my cuticles were ripped, I had dry patches all over my skin, I developed rash-like bumps on my arms... Not pretty to say the least.

Once we were in the new house, though, I started using these 3 products again RELIGIOUSLY! My skin's not completely healed yet, but it's definitely feeling a lot better now that I'm moisturizing again.

4. Chanel - Vitalumiere Foundation

I've had Chanel Vitalumiere for a while now but I didn't use it often because I didn't want to waste the product. At $55 (without tax) CAD, it's definitely pricey. But because of how dry my skin has been lately, I've been wanting to use creamier, more moisturizing products on my face. 

It smells divine, it gives enough coverage (but not too much for daytime), it gives your skin a really nice glow, and the best part is: it's so easy to use. I literally just smear it on with my fingertips and it still looks as nice as when I've applied with a brush. I have zero furniture in my room at the moment, so the fact that I can apply this with absolute ease is a major plus! 

5. Sonia Kashuk - Creme Blush

Another super easy product. I just dab my fingers in the product, then apply it to the apples of my cheeks. It gives a pretty flush that looks quite natural. 

I always thought cream products would wear off more quickly but I haven't found that to be the case with this, which is currently my only cream cheek product. Any recommendations on other good cream blushes?

6. MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish

How pretty is that glow? I really love this MSF (By Candlelight from the In The Groove collection) and lately, I've been lightly applying this on top of the Sonia Kashuk Creme Blush to add a bit more illumination to the face.

The combination of the two, plus Chanel Vitalumiere as a base has been my go-to look this last month when I haven't had much time to fix myself up but still want to look a bit more polished.

Style Crush - Clémence Poésy (And A Bit Of A Hiatus)

Now here is a woman who surprised me. Clémence always struck me as a total girly-girl (probably because I've only ever seen her as Fleur Delacour :p) but she really rocks more masculine looks; typically skinny jeans, a flowy tank, a jacket, and a pair of biker boots.

Whether channeling a more masculine or feminine vibe, Clémence always looks fabulous. I especially love how tousled her hair always looks. It's something I try to achieve, but my hair is too thick.

In Other News

As I've mentioned in previous posts (I think :p), the fam is currently in the process of moving house. And what a process it is! I'm so over it and we're not even done. But thankfully, we'll be in the new house tomorrow. However, our internet won't be connected until early March, which means no blogging for me. I want to thank my faithful readers for being so patient with me throughout these past few months as I've been super busy with many things and haven't been able to give Call It Beauty the attention I would like to give it. Hopefully it won't be much longer until I can resume all the posts I've prepared beforehand.

All About Eyes - Slate (Inspired by Emily Blunt)

I was so inspired by this gorgeous look on the beautiful Emily Blunt. I have smallish eyes, so I like lots of definition but black is too strong and intense for daytime. This slate eyeshadow is an excellent choice for a more toned down look.

L'oréal Voluminous Mascara - Black

To start off, I used a flat shader brush to apply a combination of knight divine and a metallic gunmetal shade on the eyelid, flicking it slightly along the edge. Then, to soften the look even more, I applied aspen summit on top of the grey and fading it up to blend the edges. Then, with the same flat shader brush I initially used, I applied a combination of the metallic gunmetal eyeshadow and an icey white eyeshadow on the lower lash line. To finish off the look, I lined the upper lash line with a black pencil eyeliner (UD eye pencil in zero), applied multiple coats of mascara to both top & bottom lash lines, and used a matte black eyeshadow to fill in my eyebrows.
