Collection Spotlight: Elie Saab - Fall 2011

(photos from style.com)

You guys... You guys, I can't.

I am head over heels in love with these Elie Saab dresses. I am legitimately at a loss for words right now because I feel like I just got slapped in the face with gorgeousness. I love how all the embellishments just pop out so much more against the sheer fabrics. The shades are all lovely, from ice blue to cream, from blush to taupe and finally, midnight blue.

Classy, elegant, and absolutely stunning. I can't even pick a favourite because then I'd end up writing about every single dress...

I can't even...

Happy weekend, lovelies!

Collection Spotlight: Jason Wu - Fall 2011

(photos from style.com)

There's something about the crispness of black and white that never gets old. Absolutely love the tuxedo look in set one and the lovely dress in set two - I can just imagine wearing that at a Christmas party with red, velvet pumps.

I also love the shots of colour, especially paired with lace or see through pieces. I especially love the blue blazer, the shade adds some oomph to a classic wardrobe piece.

Lastly, I love the see-through nude + black, high waisted skirt combo. And goodness, those slits insane! My favourite is gown in the middle of the last set. If it looks familiar, it's because the gorgeous Diane Kruger wore something very similar to the MET Ball earlier this year.

P.S.
I am now obsessed with polka dotted hosiery, it adds such a lovely touch. It's very subtle, but when you notice it, it really grabs your attention. I definitely need a pair for my wardrobe!

Happy weekend, lovelies!

Collection Spotlight: Reem Acra - Spring 2011

(photos from style.com)

I know it's officially Summer (I fell behind with the Collection Spotlights and forgot about them), but these last 3 are so beautiful, I just had to share them with you still.

The gown are just beyond stunning! I always love seeing Reem Acra on the red carpet :). I especially love the sequined tops paired with a bold coloured skirt. There are so many gorgeous details that just make every piece special and there is seriously no shortage of glamour in this collection.

Collection Spotlight: Monique Lhuillier - Spring 2011

(photos from style.com)

Classy and elegant.

I loooove the gorgeous, belted tea-length dresses (the last photos of sets 2 &3). The white dress would do well as a wedding dress too, I think.

Now, can we talk about the gowns? I adore all the details from the floral prints to the gathered fabric, from the sexy necklines to the sequins; every gown is just divine.

Collection Spotlight: J. Mendel - Spring 2011

Ethereal and sexy.

Love the draping, the mostly neutral palette, the pop of orange, the pleated skirts and the fur boleros.

So gorgeous, no?

Collection Spotlight: Gucci - Spring 2011

(photos from style.com)

You may have seen various pieces from this collection already. I believe Olivia Wilde has worn it on the red carpet, Jennifer Lawrence can be seen wearing it on the cover of Flare... And I totally get it. Because this collection is sexy.

I love the first and second sets the most because of the use of colour. Orange and purple? Why not? Love the dresses with the gold, tasseled belts and the jumpsuits (I think I will always love jumpsuits from now on).

Also, the very last dress is just divine! The gorgeous emerald colour would look gorgeous on just about everyone; I also like the Y-shaped halter and floofy skirt. Floofy is my new favourite non-word word :).

Are you a fan of non-traditional colour combinations?

Collection Spotlight: Badgley Mischka - Spring 2011

(photos from style.com)

If I can sum up, in one word, what this collection makes me think of, it's definitely "Mediterranean."

The coral shades look so gorgeous against white, it's a perfect marriage between crisp and fresh. The first dress in the last set on model Tao Okamoto is especially lovely. The fabric just flows so beautifully, it reminds me of water.

I also really love the full length dresses, but my favourites are dress #2 in set 1 and dress #1 in set 2. These dresses are so light and airy, it seems to have been poured over them to float over the body. They are such simple, but stunning dresses!

Enjoy your weekend, lovelies!

Collection Spotlight: Paul & Joe - Spring 2011

(photos from style.com)

Goodness, where do I start?

First of all: ORANGE! I've been a little obsessed with orange shades at the moment so the first set is right up my street!

Secondly: belts! From metallic belts with rope accents to ultra thin belts to the brown belts with the rustic feel, I'm loving this detail and I think they accentuate the outfits perfectly.

Third: maxi skirts/dresses! I love full length pieces, though I often think they look too bohemian for me. However, the lovely floral prints in the last set and the punchy bright shade of the first dress in the second set are bit more my style.

Fourth: Pantsuits! The bright colours, the halter neck, the belted waist, these pantsuits are so modern and so sexy.

My absolute favourite? Definitely the first photo in the last set. I love the use of print and bright colour on the skirt juxtaposed with a sheer tank and leather bomber.

Which piece is your favourite?

Collection Spotlight: Valentino - Spring 2011

(photos from style.com)

As lovely as the silhouettes of these gorgeous dresses are, they simply would not look good on someone like me who isn't... Well, slight

No, the reason I love this collection so much is for the divine fabrics! I love how floaty and airy they are and the patterns are so beautiful. I personally love the polka dots (set 1) and the black on nude patterns in sets 4 and 5.

Also, how gorgeous is that coral dress in set 6? It's simple and classic, but the colour really brings it to life.
