Call It Beauty's Question Sunday

This post in inspired by Charlotte's (a.k.a. Lipglossiping) Lipstick League Question of the Week.

Question: If you could wear one lip product for the rest of all time,
what would it be?

Funnily enough, this question isn't hard for me to answer at all. There's only one product in my bag that I've been using for years now and it's:

MAC Tinted Lip Conditioner in Fuchsia Fix

This product is of "holy grail" status for me... Or at least as close to holy grail as a product can get. I've been repurchasing it for many years now I've still yet to find a product that works better.

It moisturizes my lips perfectly and gives enough colour to make my lips look a little more polished. No matter what other lip product I apply during the day/night, I almost always resort to this eventually because I end up getting too lazy to upkeep the more, uh, laborious shades :p.

Collection Spotlight: Vera Wang - Spring 2011

(photos from style.com)

Dresses, dresses, dresses! I've been really into dresses lately and these are just gorgeous!

I love all the sheer fabrics, which looks interesting with those boots. But my favourites are definitely the silk, printed dresses (dress 4, set 1 & dresses 3/4, set 3). The prints are gorgeous, the silhouettes would suit someone with my body shape.

Actually, I'd have to add the off-shoulder dresses (dress 2, set 1 & dress 1, set 3) to the favourites list as well. Ah, heck! Let's just add them all, shall we? :p

Have a fab weekend, lovelies!

Collection Spotlight: Dolce & Gabbana - Spring 2011

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! There are no words...

I lied, there are words, and those words are: beautiful, romantic, feminine, sexy, lace.

I love all the silver embellishments in the last 2 sets, I love the super cute rompers, I love the delicate LWDs. I love that the black pieces juxtaposed in the collection look absolutely sexy but you know if they were white, they would be completely sweet and virginal.

Well... Except maybe for the corsets and leather :p.

L'oréal Voluminous Million Lashes, You Let Me Down!

When you have such sparse lashes like me, you probably reach for volumizing mascaras more often than not. Now I'm not usually one to fall for makeup advertisements, especially not mascara ones (I happen to think they're all pretty ridiculous), but I did see some pretty good reviews of this product online and YouTube so I felt comfortable enough to make a purchase. Especially since it was on promotion for around $6.00 CAD (pre HST).

I have to say, I'm glad I didn't spend that much on it because it's kind of a dud.

First of all, the brush... There's nothing wrong with it, actually, I just don't like it. I find that plastic-y brushes like these tend to irritate my eyelid too much.

Secondly... Actually, let's just show you a picture:

HOOOOT MEEEESSSS!!!

This was the first time I ever used it and I'm sure you can imagine how disappointed I was. I decided to give it another try a few weeks later and it wasn't so bad...

Much better, no?

It does have its good points. I like that the product doesn't migrate anywhere. It doesn't claim to be waterproof, but it still sticks around quite well. It also adds a good amount of volume; however, it doesn't hold the curl at all, which is not ok with me.

Bottom line is, with the irritation I get from the brush and the lackluster results, I say just go with the regular L'oréal Voluminous. It is a MUCH better mascara all in all and is probably a lot cheaper, too. Don't let the fancy, gold tube fool you. L'oréal Voluminous may not look impressive, but it works fabulously!

Have you tried L'oréal Voluminous Million Lashes?
If so, do you like it?
